One January morning in 2020, I started what would become Photo of the day by Tam. 108 days later, I quit.
Those 108 days changed me…
I like to think that if my writing is a response to the question, “is speaking not enough for you?” then my photography is a response to the question, “if your eyes could speak, what would they say?”
Well, Photo of the day by Tam is back. Allow me to show you what it has become.

The series returned on a Monday. Why? I’m still not sure. I think it had something to do with this photograph—a visual representation of my Monday mornings.
Mondays are just that day everyone is going everywhere, all at once, and not necessarily by choice.

I could tell you more about this photograph, but instead, let me share with you a quote I read that comes to mind when I see it.
The beautiful quote attributed to Kelsey Grammer goes as thus.
“Prayer is when you talk to God. Meditation is when you’re listening. Playing the piano allows you to do both at the same time.”

Two Sundays ago, I shared some photos I shot of my university’s chapel: after hours on my Twitter. The next day, the university posted some of them on its official Instagram account. A highlight of my day.
This was an alternative shot of one of the photos they posted.

Thursday marked 5 years since I became a SustyViber.
Since I’m usually never around long enough to work on-site, last year was different. I was able to tag along last year for our Communitrees project, and it was quite the experience. I even got to meet Bernard Kalu in person.

Do you pray? Well, I don’t—not nearly enough. I believe I prayed a lot more the year I took this photo. Maybe I just muttered to myself a lot because I was alone and didn’t get to see my friends as much as I wanted to that year.
I should pray more. Maybe I will.

You know what? I’m getting a bit of a creative block right now, and I don’t want this sitting in my drafts any longer than the next 15 minutes. So how about we try something?
Leave a comment telling me what comes to mind when you look at this photo. I will pick my favourite comment and add it to the next recap. If I can’t choose just one, I’ll dedicate a post to the multiple comments I choose. How’s that?

See those doors? Sometime within the 6 months, I’m walking out of them with my B.Sc.
Walking out of it should fill anyone in my shoes with joy, but in my case, not so much. Wish me luck, ok? I'm going to need it.

Fun fact: This photo is a self-portrait—well, a combination of two self-portraits.
Well, that’s all for last week. I hope you enjoyed this week’s recap of the Photo of the day by Tam.
If you’d like to catch the photos as they drop daily, follow @photofthedaybytam on Instagram and/or Facebook. Make sure you click the bell icon to get notified as soon as they drop.
Be kind to yourself, ok?

Hey!
Your pictures look really nice. That particular one you asked about reminds me of the beginning of a military movie – like how Captain America started out [or any other movie about a young chap working their way up the army].
All the best in your studies!!
These pictures are beautiful, and I can't wait to see more. I'm having a bit of a creative drought myself (writer's block, to be specific), so I can't help with the Saturday pic, sadly. 😅 Great recap. 👍🏼
